The professional-grade Tascam CD-RW900SX CD player and recorder follows up on the CD-RW900MKII CD and is the ideal finisher for fixed installations. A slot-loading optical CD drive replaces the tray-loading driver, raising both stability and reliability, and when it comes to recording, track marks can be set before recording in ’gapless’ mode – a function you just don’t get with most recorders. Outstanding AD/DA conversion is guaranteed by a top-sec codec chip, and other handy features include ’automatic track creation’ to help streamline the recording process and reduce the need to monitor every second.
The Optimum Setup
The Tascam CD-RW900SX features a set of unbalanced analogue RCA inputs and outputs as well as optical and coax ports so the unit can be linked with other digital audio gear. Both analogue inputs comes with an independent volume control fitted on the front panel, and the digital input signal can be set from your digital source. Adjust and toggle everything from auto-cues, auto-ready and pitch, to power-on, playback and fade-in/fade-out, and gain full control over the optimum setup whether it’s part of a fixed installation in a club, pub or dance school.

The independent level controls for the left and right analogue channels can be tweaked to compensate for any differences in volume and dynamics before recording your source, and the recording level for the digital input can also be set. You can also plug in a computer keyboard to control both the player and recorder and to input text like track and artist names. On top of that, this solid unit offers up a mass of playback options, including playback speed and repeat function, and to finish, the CD-RW900SX features an anti-shock memory of up to four seconds to ensure smooth and uninterrupted playback.
