The B|Amp Mk2 is the upgraded follow-up to the popular, pioneering and prize-winning B|Amp bass guitar amplifier by Bergantino Audio Systems. According to Jim Bergantino himself, this even-more-modern version deserved an OLED display but it also comes with various impacting new features based on advice provided by professional bassists. Simply put, the best of the best in bass amps just got even better – especially for those who demand a high-end amp head that can take on any style or setting.
The B|Amp Mk2: Variable-Ratio Compressor
While the basic lay-out suggests otherwise, there’s a lot more to this lightweight and compact 800W Bergantino bass amp head than the eye can see. Its sound can be extensively sculpted using a multi-functional 4-band EQ where even the Q and the frequency range can be adjusted, but you’re also set up with four programmable filters so you can go even deeper. Meanwhile, the Variable-Ratio Compressor ensures a balanced sound without sacrificing any dynamics. Want to hear just the compressor effect? Flip the B|Amp Mk2 into Serial mode. Parallel mode gets you a 50/50 mix of your bypassed bass sound and the compression effect.
Beef Up Your Sound At Will
So you can fatten up your sound, Bergantino have also equipped the B|Amp Mk2 with a Big Fat Tube circuit that comes loaded with settings. The first setting activates a valve-like, drive-clipped sound, while the second setting drops you in the more familiar realm of distortion and fuzz. Just like EQ and compression settings, any favourite settings and blend percentages can be easily saved to this Bergantino bass head, and there’s a built-in USB port to support profiles, software, charging and optional wireless connectivity via a compatible footswitch (not included).
