Backed up by over 40 years of experience, Charvel build high-performance axes like no other, so this HSH-configured edition of the Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 holds true to tradition while throwing in some sweet modern perks. Built to spit powerful, versatile tone, the solid alder body has been mounted with a Seymour Duncan Distortion humbucker at the bridge and neck positions, with Custom Flat Strat single-coil in the middle for a little single-coil bite and sparkle. When cranked up to ten, the fitted No-Load tone pot bypasses the circuit, for full and unfettered tone, while smooth action and ultra-stable support is assured by a Floyd Rose 1000 Series double locking tremolo bridge.

As well as power, it’s pretty clear that this guitar has been built for speed. For a start, the maple neck bears a Speed Neck profile and comes sealed in a coat of hand-rubbed satin urethane for a buttery-smooth feel, while the rounded fretboard edges and set of twenty-two jumbo supply a light and nimble, played-in feel. Another salient detail is compound fretboard radius which graduates from a 12 inches at the headstock to 16 inches at the body, supporting a firm and fast grip whether grabbing chords or solos. The paint-job and clean detailing merely serve as the chocolate sprinkles on top of a real treat.
