The Excel Series Tammany XT from D’Angelico is a great pick for players looking for an electro-acoustic OM-style guitar blessed with elegant looks, comfortable playability and full-of-life sound. While this all-solid model is a touch smaller than a dreadnought, the warm foundation sound shaped by the mahogany neck, back and sides is fully rounded off by the rich sound stemming from the spruce top. The OM body sports a sumptuous high-gloss finish whereas the neck comes covered in smooth satin-gloss lacquer and, so you can keep the whole thing in good nick, D’Angelico include a matching deluxe hard-shell case with the Tammany XT.

The decision to go with an INK-4 preamp has led to dynamically, clearly amplified sound where the bass, mid-range and trebles can be tweaked to taste, and extra dose of brightness can be added via the Brilliance control. Finally, along with the chic set of Grover Stairstep Rotomatic machine-heads fitted to the vintage-style Scroll Type headstock, a built-in tuner helps you to get and keep the Tammany XT in tune.
