Allmänt

In the light-eating form of the J-Standard Mighty Jazz Evolution II, the Japan-based guitar gurus Fujigen (FGN) unleash an ultra-elastic tone machine that seamlessly mashes up the modern with the traditional. The intonation, harmonics, and sustain are elevated through the roof by FNG’s Circle Fretting System, which ensures that minimal contact between the string and fret is required to produce a clean note, and the string angle in relation to the frets is very slightly shifted to correct the intonation flaws of standard fretting systems. And while this bass comes dressed for modern metal, the JP-style sonic palette served up by the mounted EMG pickups straddles everything from classic round warmth, to growling and aggressive bite.

A Lightweight Bass with an Enhanced Neck Pocket

The ash body of this edition of the J-Standard bass has a comfy, lightweight feel and the maple neck has been bolted on with five screws to ensure a secure and stable connection. The maple fretboard strikes a tasty contrast with the all-black paint-job, matched headstock and hardware, while adding a touch more treble definition, and the heel pocket has been modified to refine the sonic presence of this bass as well as allow smooth and comfortable access to the higher frets. Capping it off: a full set of Gotoh machine heads have been fitted to provide acclaimed tuning stability.

The Ultra-Defined Sound of Active EMG J and MM-TW Pups

The high-definition output of the mounted EMG pickups can be further varied by popping the push-pull tone pot to trigger a dual split-P single-coil sound. Another high-grade perk of this bass is the ease of the volume and tone controls, which are entirely passive, since the active circuit has been built directly into the pickups rather than a separate preamp. Add up all these neat and refined features and the supreme detailing and you have a masterful bass guitar that should probably come at twice the price.
