Looking for a compressor in stompbox-form that not only packs studio-quality sound but proves useful even when you don’t normally add optical compression to your tone? The Jackson Audio Blossom can give you that classic sugar-coated sound as well as the brutal comp sounds of classic valve variants backed up by the refined clarity of the optical circuit. Via the Comp pot, you first dial in how much compression you want before adjusting the clean and wet signal blend using the Mix control and tweaking the EQ. Turning the EQ control to the left boosts the highs and lows while turning it counter-clockwise does the exact opposite. Lastly, there’s a Volume pot for making sure the effect volume matches the loudness of the bypass signal.
