Squier released their ’own’ first Jazz Bass back in 1982 and whether or not you were there when it happened, this special 40th Anniversary Vintage Edition reissue is a great pick if you’re a traditional bassist on a budget. The contouring of the body matches the original while, supported by a special satin finish, the comfortable C-profile neck provides the familiar look and feel of a genuine J-bass. To guarantee classic tone, Squier have opted for two Fender-Designed Alnico Single-Coil pickups and three standard controls, plus a set of vintage-style tuners and a matching four-saddle bridge to keep the tuning in check. The engraved 40th Anniversary neck plate and the classy anodised aluminium pickguard are the prestigious cherries on top.
