A unique edition of an absolute classic, the Fender Japan FSR Traditional Mustang might bear all the hallmarks of a standard-issue Fender, but when you look a little closer, reveals some less-than-standard tweaks courtesy of the Fender Japan workshop.
Alternative & Accessible
The Mustang was originally developed as a student-friendly model and has since grown up to become an underground hero. Reflecting the rebel within, Fender Japan have given this model a reversed headstock and simplified the pick-up system by replacing the awkward old-school slide-switches with a more accessible three-way switch. And, to really change up the sonic palette, the Single-Coil Mustang pickup planted at the neck has been teamed up with a Shawbucker at the bridge.
Easy & Versatile Playability
The comfy rosewood fretboard combines with a shortened 24 inch scale length to provide tight and snug playability, especially for guitarists with a shorter frame. This is fully backed up by the light feel of the slim and singular offset body-shape to complete a genuine grunge-monster; an authentic jazz-machine; and a high-grade instrument that’s worthy of far more than just running scales and practising chord progressions.
