Take the best of a mandolin, tenor mandola and electric guitar, turn it into a single instrument, and what you end up with is the Gold Tone GME-5. This unique mandolin not only features a solid alder body, but a neck pickup, volume and tone controls, and the addition of a fifth string – the low C taken from a tenor mandola. Other welcome perks are the one-piece, radiussed neck-and-fretboard, the compensated bridge, and the zero fret.
