Hofner bring back the old days with their Verythin Series hollow-body guitars. This Contemporary model is essentially a modern version of the classic ’60s Verithin and has an extra-slim thin body of just 32 millimetres to offer the same level of playing comfort as a solid-body electric guitar, despite its fairly large size. This thinline guitar also features several classic details, including Hofner’s traditional striped position markers.
The Hofner Verythin CT: Less Feedback, More Sustain
The neck, top, sides and back of the Verythin CT are made of flamed maple and sport a transparent red lacquer. What’s more, the top and back have been arched for added strength, while the hollow body harbours a solid spruce centre block for improved sustain, a nice bit of feedback reduction, and a deeper, brighter and louder foundation sound.
Pickups and Hardware
The Verythin CT is equipped with two of Hofner’s full-size humbucker pickups, allowing the guitar to shape a wide variety of sounds that range from zesty blues to straight-up distorted rock. Each pickup offers its own volume and tone pots for optimal tonal control, while the hardware of the Verythin CT comprises a fully adjustable Tune-O-Matic bridge with a tailpiece and a deluxe set of sealed, self-lubricating tuners finished with pearloid buttons.
