While you wouldn’t believe it at a glance, the tight SPL Madicon MADI interface can be coupled with one or multiple Madison converters to build a 64-in/64-out monster set-up – all via a USB 2.0 connection. This wee interface even boasts an optical S/PDIF output so that no MADI channels need to be sacrificed in the name of monitoring. Hook up your monitor controller and you’re treated to a stunning, separate system for your studio monitors.
The SPL Madicon: The Spider in Your Web
While it takes up very little desktop space, the SPL Madicon is a serious addition. Using the included Monitor Mixer software, all of the inputs and software sources can be routed to all outputs, and despite the immense volume of channels, everything remains surprisingly clear. Recordings can even be made via this mixer, without the need for a DAW.
