Dropped from the Ibanez Bass Workshop, the BTB605MS electric bass doesn’t just kit you out with a five-string range but a set of fanned frets and a graduated scale length of 37 to 35 inches. This progressive layout retains a tight feel across the lower gauge strings while enhancing the definition and, at the same time, ensures that the lower gauge strings have a light feel and warm sound. Framed by a unique body shape and a nicely understated matte paint-job, this ultra-detailed, ultra-modern bass has been built for the ultra-modern bassist.
The Ibanez BTB605MS: Ultimate Comfort, Ultimate Tone
This high-performance Ibanez offering has a neck-through construction, so the stable five-piece maple and walnut neck has been shot through the middle of a two-piece okoume body. This doesn’t just guarantee superb vibrational transfer but grants effortless access to the highest of the twenty-four medium frets, which have been made from stainless steel to guarantee a super-long lifespan. The string spacing can be adjusted by up to 1.5mm in both directions via the MR5S bridge for fully customised playing comfort, and when it comes to sound, you’re getting the full Bass Workshop treatment. Two passive T1 pickups are backed up by an active Custom Electronics section that provides three-band EQ controls and a three-way Mid-Freq switch. In other words: the ultimate in tonal flexibility.
