Armed with a single Seymour Duncan SMB-4D humbucker and active two-band EQ controls, this formidable Modern Collection bass packs awesome force. While the mahogany body of the Kramer Guitars Disciple D-1 bears a unique, menacing shape topped with a sharp Kramer headstock that could easily have someone’s eye out, this bass has a surprisingly snug feel. Couple that with the hard maple neck, ebony fretboard, and set of 24 medium frets, and you’re treated to a superbly comfortable instrument that’s been built for heavy-duty yet fast and agile work.
