As evidenced by its traditional single-cut body and slick modern neck, the Kramer Guitars Modern Collection Assault Plus has clearly been put together for fast-paced players. The Seymour Duncan pickups secured to the mahogany body are guaranteed to deliver a meaty foundation sound and come backed up by two volume pots that double-up as push/pull controls for toggling the pickups into series or parallel.

What’s striking for a single-cut model like the Assault Plus is that it has a long, 25.5″ scale length which combines with 24 medium frets and a maple fretboard with a modern, 12″ radius. What that means is that both speedy licks and face-melting leads are no problem for this rock-focussed axe, which by the way comes finished with a Floyd Rose® 1000 Series double locking tremolo so you can pull off crazy vibrato tricks without immediately throwing the guitar out of tune.
