Luke Holland has now become a household name within hard music. Besides his work for The Word Alive and Jason Richardson, he is best known for his YouTube channel full of covers and remixes. In these videos, you can see why it is so difficult for Luke to find the perfect stick: his style is characterised by hard and fast parts as well as pieces with a lot of finesse and nuance. Fortunately, Meinl gave him the opportunity to develop the SB600 Luke Holland Signature drumsticks, which perfectly suit this style of playing. The thickness is between that of a 5A and a 5B, making it thin enough for subtle parts, but not so thin that it gives way after the first rimshot. The extremely short taper puts a lot of weight in the front of the stick, so fast and powerful parts are no problem. The round tip results in a clear and articulate sound, which is very nice when playing fast ghost notes and other details. All in all, therefore, the ideal stick for the versatile drummer.
