The resharpened Keeley Katana clean boost wields the might of the same much-loved JFET transistors as the original but comes packed up in a neater and easier to control stompbox. This pedal does exactly what it’s designed to do – spit out precisely what you put into it – just a bit louder. However, calling the Keeley Katana a simple clean boost is a bit of an understatement, since as soon as you pop out the side-mounted volume pot, another mode is activated, adding an extra thirty decibels of boost with a little extra gain on the side.
The Magic of the Katana
All of this is made possible by the combined simplicity and outstanding sound quality of the Katana Circuit. Robert Keeley debuted this circuit along with his first ever effect pedal in 1999, and it’s formed the core of the Keeley sound ever since – especially when it comes to quality assurance. So, if you want to pull heavier volume out of your amplifier, or your sound needs that extra-special something, then the Keeley Katana Boost is able to deliver both.
