With the overwhelming potential and level of connectivity offered by the Arturia KeyStep Pro, you can manage your boutique synth collection as well as your modular and virtual synths from one control panel. The KeyStep Pro comes with 37 keys, four polyphonic sequencer tracks and a separate 16-step drum sequencer to offer more than enough hands-on action. If you prefer to work ’in-the-box’, this comprehensive keyboard also breathes fresh life into virtual instruments, all of which can be shaped into sequences and arpeggios using the Arturia-style intuitive controls.
The Keystep Pro in Flight
Many modular and other analogue synths often produce a sound that’s almost impossible to emulate with software since it can’t quite hit that sweet, ’gritty’ spot. And while they no doubt deliver the grit, in terms of performance, boutique synths usually lag a little way behind their software-based counterparts. The KeyStep Pro seeks to bridge these gaps by providing analogue CV or MIDI ports, so that connected gear can be controlled by its very own, and very many, inspiring performance features. Beside the highly expressive keyboard lies a multi-mode arpeggiator, a randomness function, and an easy-chord mode that plays back chords when only one key is pressed, while easy-record mode allows the instant recording of any brilliant progressions or melodies.
