Allmänt
Wrapping professional quality up in a compact little desktop box, the Steinberg UR12 audio interface comes kitted out with a Class-D preamp and boasts 192kHz, 24 bit recording quality. This mini interface provides two inputs: one XLR microphone input complete with phantom power and one 6.3mm jack input for guitars or line-level instruments and audio sources, and since this is an extra-high-impedance input, you’re always assured of optimal sound. The robust metal housing also sets this interface up for mobile work, and as a neat plus, it’s an outstanding partner for Cubase.
The Steinberg UR12: In Use
Considering the recording quality of this model, you’re able to complete professional sounding projects with nothing more than a computer and a decent microphone. Simply hook the UR12 up to your computer via USB and it’s both connected and powered, without the need to use an external power supply. The stereo line-out and the separate headphone output are both backed up by a latency-free direct-monitor function to ensure problem-free overdubbing, and so you can start work straight out of the box, Steinberg has even thrown in a copy of Cubase LE.
