Due to the woodthat was available during the 1970s, solid-body guitars like the Telecaster were beginning to get quite heavy. That’s why Fender came up with the Thinline models. In 1972, the single-coil pickups were replaced by humbuckers which made these models even more popular. This ’70s Tele Thinline from Fender’s Vintera Series has the same airy sound thanks to its hollowed out body and sound holes, and since it’s made in Fender’s Mexican factory in Ensenada, it comes at a better price than its American-made counterparts!
