Te Deum is an abbreviated title commonly given both to the original Latin text and the translations of a hymn in rhythmical prose that has the opening words, Te Deum Laudamus. Mozart’s attempt at a re-working of this Te Deum was hugely successful: showing his characteristic verve and melodic brilliance.
