No doubt you already know Meinl for their high-quality cymbals, but they are now trying to take over the sticks market as well. They do this, among others, with the SB129 Concert HD1, a set of hefty sticks with a round tip. hefty sticks, because the diameter of 0.635 inches (161 millimetres) and the length of 16.375 inches (416 millimetres) put this set in 2B stick territory. Yet they weigh less than you might expect, which also makes these sticks ideally suited to some more subtle playing. Due to the small, rounded tip, the sticks provide a somewhat bright, clearly articulated sound, which comes into its own both with more complex orchestral pieces and behind a drum kit with a sizeable band. And what really sets the SB129 Concert HD1 apart from other drumsticks: the sticks in a pair are matched not only by weight, but also by pitch. So you always have an even playing feel as well as an even sound.
